Book design for authors

Book design for authors

You wrote the book. Now you need a cover that does it justice.

I design the cover and the interior together, as one project, for authors who are done settling for almost right.

It came back fine, but not yours

It came back fine, but not yours

You sent references, then more feedback. What returned looked fine on paper and felt like a generic cover for a book you’d never read.

Three designers, none of them right

Three designers, none of them right

By the third round you started to wonder whether the problem was you. It wasn’t. Nobody had asked the right questions first.

The inside looks like a Word document

Most authors only find out interior typesetting is its own craft when a reader says the formatting looks a bit off.

That’s why every project starts with a conversation, and why the cover and the inside are designed by the same person.

Good questions

Good questions

What happens after I send the form?

I read your enquiry and reply within two working days. If it looks like a good fit, I’ll invite you to a free, no-commitment call.

Can I just have the cover?

Yes, just ask. That said, a great cover on a default-formatted interior is the most common regret I hear.

How long does it take?

Usually six to eight weeks from brief to print-ready files. I confirm the timeline on day one.

The book is done. What will it say about you before anyone reads a word?
